A genuine gaucho knife made by world famous Eberle of Brazil a steelmaker established in 1896 and now a part of the Eberle-Mundial Group of Germany makers of the world renowned line of Mundial chef's knives.
This particular line of knives were custom made for actual gauchos throughout South America.
Gauchos are sometimes called the South American Cowboys. The gaucho's preferred weapon was the 'facon', a one-edged knife. As a symbol of their pride, gauchos usually decorated the facon's handle and sheath. Eberle artisans captured that spirit and produced unique handcrafted knives.
